| Airborne Assault: Red Devils Over Arnhem English | |
| Take part in the biggest Airborne operation in history! Can your British "Red Devils" seize and hold the Rhine crossings and end the war before Christmas 1944? Or can your desperate German forces resist the onslaught and eliminate this threat to the German heartland?
Be a General
Do you have what it takes to lead 40,000 men into combat? If you do then Airborne Assault is for you. Airborne Assault is an operational level wargame that lets you fight out what could have been one of the decisive battles of World War II. Engage in battles ranging from Brigade to Corps level using Companies and Battalions as your units of maneuver.
Experience Real Command and Control
A realistic command and control system enables you to give orders to HQ's that in turn develop their own plans for their subordinate units. For the micro manager there is still the option to issue orders to every unit. Enjoy the best of both worlds with this innovative and powerful command system. Hundreds of units, thousands of men, the outcome of the war rests on your shoulders.
Make Decisions in Real Time
You are the commander. Enemy units have been spotted bursting out of the tree line to the north, while your own attack to the east has bogged down. Your troops dither before this new threat, as they await your instructions. Can you afford to ignore this new development, while you bolster the flagging attack? What will you do? The clock is ticking. Feel the pressures of command as events unfold before your very eyes. Men's lives hang in the balance. Can you make the right decision, NOW? As the battle intensifies, vary the game speed from fast to slow. If the pressure really gets too much, pause the game while you develop that all-important plan. With battles ranging from 1 to 10 days Airborne Assault will test the resolve of any General. Do you have what it takes to go the distance? Do you have what it takes to make a difference?
Take on a World of Opponents
With multiplayer support challenge your friends to battles over LAN or the Internet. Feel the pressure of making real time assessments against a real person with only limited intelligence about what your opponents is doing. Each player takes command of either the Allied or Axis side. This is the ultimate contest of strategy, nerve and skill.
Issue a Host of Orders
A full range of different orders can be issued from the basic Move, Assault, Fire, Bombard, Rest, Reorganize, Halt and Defend to the more complex operations of Attack, Probe, Secure Crossing, Deny Crossing, Delay and Withdraw. You can also call in air strikes when available. Issuing orders is as simple as selecting a unit, selecting the order tool and clicking on the map. You can rely on the default settings or you can dive right in and adjust everything from formation type, frontage, depth, facing, movement rate, route type, aggression level and rate of fire to acceptable losses. You also have the power to specify the route taken by setting waypoints. The computer's artificial intelligence (AI) and the intuitive interface enable you to play as simply or as complex as you can handle.
