BlackMoon FTP Server is an FTP daemon written specifically for Windows 2000/XP and above. It takes advantage of all the new features in the mentioned oses like io completion ports, thread pooling, running as a system services, using built-in SSL certificate stores, authenticating against an Active Directory or remote NTLM, accessing network shares, impersonating an NT user and more. It also has an integrated scripting interface that takes advantage of the microsoft scripting host allowing you to write scripts that can do just about anything in vbscript, jscript, perl and even python. It has all the necessary options and features you'ld expect in a mature ftp server; user/group accounts, account expiration, bandwidth control (per user or entire server), hammering bans, ratios & quotas, domain filtering and the list goes on. It boasts the best ftp server user interface allowing you to see anything and everything your users do. Server statistics, bandwidth usage, 3-d transfer & connect graphs can all be updated realtime without running any external utilities. All these features (except editing users) can also be done from a remote location.

Active Directory and NTLM Authentication
Make managing your network easier by keeping all your user accounts in one location. If you want to provide ftp access to your existing NT users (in an Active Directory, Local or Domain Controller), BlackMoon FTP Server can do that automatically without importing the users into the ftp database!
NT User Impersonation
This feature works great with Active Directory or NTLM Authentication. The FTP Server can impersonate the logged in NT user, thereby restricting itself to any security restrictions you set for the particular NT User. This means that a folder only a certain NT user can read can be read by the ftp server pretending to be that user after the user has successfully connected to the ftp server.
Secure FTP sessions with SSL and TLS
Allow users to encrypt their ftp sessions with SSL or TLS authentication. You can use your own purchased or self-signed certificates or even issue users their own certificates by running your certificate server.
Run your server as an NT service
BlackMoon FTP Server doesn't require any external utilities to run an NT service. It was designed this way from conception. Running as an NT service doesn't require you to login to start the ftp server, nor does the service stop when you log out of the system. Services can also be run under less privilaged accounts for better security, meaning you can login as an administrator and be assured that the ftp server doesn't get your elevated privilages. Another advantage is the ability of a service application to restart itself in case of failure.
Control the FTP Server bandwidth
Yes, you can limit the ftp server speed, per individual user, user account, group accounts or the entire server. This feature is quite handy for home and corporate users. BlackMoon FTP Server also supports automatic bandwidth adjustments depending on the day of the week or time of day (See Screenshot). Server bandwidth modifications doesn't require server restarts and can automatically take effect while transfers are taking place.
