| Porco Rosso is an italian gentleman, seaplane ace, and... pig? In the years immediately preceding World War II, Porco is an ace seaplane pirate evading the fascist regime. Living on a desert island somewhere in the adriatic, he hunts down air pirates for the bounty and lives a life of isolation, away from the beautiful singer who is his true love. But when his plane is in need of repairs, he forms a friendship with the young girl who rebuilds his plane and a rivalry with an american pilot out to make a name for himself, drawing him out of his isolation and back into the world. Porco Rosso is another entertaining masterpiece by Miyazaki, a man who doesn't need mechs or monsters to make an impressive film.
A very nice movie, by studio Ghibli.
