| Reign: The Conqueror is about the life of the Macedonian hero, Alexander the Great and his conquests during his lifetime. The series has quite a large cast, as is befitting an epic. So much of a cast, that Toykopop includes a flowchart of who is related to whom in the liner notes of the first DVD, Ascension. This DVD covers his birth, the prophesy that he will become king and destroy the world and some intriguing court politics to stop the legend that Alexander will create. Naturally his father, King Phillip the II, is not pleased at the current state of events. His mother is very happy; but then again, she is also very much insane. As an adult, Alexander gains a few allies and a mass of enemies due to the prophecy. As if politics weren't enough, a cult of Pythagorean assassins have been sent to destroy Alexander. Through all this, he moves forward, as that is all he can do and fights (often literally) down the path of his destiny.
